The Full Story
Ashtanga Yoga at Fox Dog
Ashtanga is a traditional and disciplined style of yoga which follows a set sequence of poses with little to no deviation from day to day. The practice has a reputation of being challenging and athletic, but don't let that scare you. It can be modified to suit all body types and levels of experience.

Led Classes
In a Led Class, you will be guided through a sequence with the count and pacing maintained by the teacher. A full Led Class traditionally takes 90 minutes, however, we offer 75 and 60min variations to make the practice more accessible to your needs and schedule. Some yoga experience is recommended but not required to attend these classes. The teacher will help you make adjustments and modifications to meet you where you are at in your practice.
Mysore Style
Traditionally, the Ashtanga Yoga Method is learned one-on-one with a teacher, in a self-practice setting, where each practitioner moves at their own pace. The teacher is present in the room to offer verbal cues and physical adjustments to assist the practitioner in developing a practice that meets their needs. Practices are built intentionally, over time, and are individualized to the practitioner. Some have called Mysore Style Classes like a "group private" because of the individualized attention received by each practitioner from the teacher. You are welcome to follow along with one of our Ashtanga Yoga sheets while you are learning the sequence, and the teacher will be available to assist you if and when you get lost.
