Class Types & Descriptions
2015-2017
Ashtanga
Ashtanga yoga is a Vinyasa-based method of practice which follows a set series of postures and emphasizes the linkage of breath and movement. It is known for being a strong and athletic practice, challenging both the body & the ego, however, it can be modified to suit any level of practitioner with a modern approach and a seasoned teacher. All classes listed as "Mysore" or "Led" are also Ashtanga classes.
2011-2014
Vinyasa Flow
Like Ashtanga, Vinyasa classes emphasize the linkage of breath & movement. Where they differ is in their structure & approach in that a Vinyasa class does not follow a set sequence, and every teacher incorporates their own style from varying backgrounds & methods into each class. Vinyasa "Flow" leaves room for creativity, expression, and variation. This is one of the most popular styles of modern yoga.
2007-2010
MyoYin
MyoYin is one of our newest editions to the Fox Dog Schedule. It targets the body's fascia, connective tissues, and ligaments through an integration of myofascial release via self-massage techniques and passive Yin stretches. Expect to work out knots & tensions while also moving stagnant energy, stretching and lengthening through long holds and gentle, passive Yin shapes.
2015-2017
Yin & Restore
Yin & Restore combines the deep, passive stretches of a Yin Yoga practice with the gentle, supportive approach of a Restorative class. You can expect long-held shapes with an emphasis on nervous system down-regulation and deep relaxation. Sound Healing & other sensory experiences are sometimes included.
2011-2014
Handstand Club
Handstand Club is a weekly meeting of Handstand Enthusiasts and those with a curiosity of what it takes to get upside down and balance on their hands. All levels are welcome and will be given the tips & drills to meet them wherever they are on their journey to invert.
Wheel Yoga
Wheel Yoga incorporates the fun & versatile Yoga Wheel prop into various yoga poses, yoga flows, and mobility exercises. The wheel is great for deepening backbends, building strength, and supporting various shapes in class. This class is offered once per month and will always focus on a different theme, emphasizing the many uses of the wheel in your yoga practice.
